2. System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit), Windows 11 (64-bit), or Windows Server 2019/2022.
  • Runtime: Microsoft .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime (x64).
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended for optimal background performance).
  • Network: Low-latency broadband or VPS connection (wired or datacenter connection recommended for high-speed automated registrations).

3. Cryptographic License Activation

DomainCatchPro uses an offline, node-locked cryptographic licensing architecture. Licenses are tied to your physical machine and require zero cloud communication to remain active.

Key Format: Pro keys use the format DC8-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (or 16-character hex) and are mathematically bound to your computer's 16-character Machine ID (e.g., F815-DEEA-0A73-69CD).

Activation Steps:

  1. In the running application, click the License button in the upper right.
  2. The dialog displays your unique 16-character Machine ID. Click Copy ID.
  3. Submit this Machine ID during checkout or provide it to support.
  4. Paste the generated Pro License Key into the License Key box.
  5. Click Activate License. The window title bar will immediately update to [Licensed Pro].

Licenses are permanently saved locally at %LocalAppData%\DomainCatchPro\license.json.

4. OnlineNIC Edition User Manual

The OnlineNIC edition connects directly to OnlineNIC's EPP server and HTTP/XML gateway for high-speed automated domain registration.

7. Registration Automation Strategy & Lifecycle Management

Whether executing on-demand fresh domain registrations or automating the acquisition of newly released domains, understanding registry lifecycles and API processing helps optimize your workflow.

7.1 Registry Release Windows & Lifecycles:

Expiring domains pass through a standardized ICANN deletion cycle (Grace Period → 30-day Redemption Period → 5-day PendingDelete). Once deleted by the registry, domains become available for general registration in daily release batches:

  • .COM / .NET (Verisign Registry): 18:00 to 19:30 UTC (approx. 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM US Eastern). Domains are released sequentially in alphabetical/hash clusters throughout this window.
  • .ORG (Public Interest Registry): 14:00 to 15:00 UTC (approx. 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM US Eastern).
  • ccTLDs (e.g. .co, .io, .in): Vary based on individual national registry policies (often midnight UTC).

7.2 Understanding Network Latency to Registrars

Automated domain registration performance is determined by round-trip network latency. When DomainCatchPro runs:

  1. Your computer sends an API or EPP command to your registrar's gateway (OnlineNIC, GoDaddy, or ResellerClub).
  2. The registrar's server receives the request, validates your API token and account balance, and generates an internal EPP <domain:create> packet.
  3. The registrar transmits the EPP command to the central registry (e.g. Verisign).
  4. The registry confirms registration if the domain is available in the queue.

If your computer is connected via residential broadband, your round-trip packet latency to the registrar may be 50ms–150ms+. This latency delay is standard for client-side tools across the industry.

⚡ Latency Optimization Recommendation: For high-frequency registration automation, deploy DomainCatchPro on a 64-bit Windows VPS hosted in Northern Virginia (US East) near major registry and registrar datacenters (e.g., AWS us-east-1 or dedicated servers in Ashburn/Equinix DC). This cuts round-trip packet latency down to under 5ms.

7.3 Contested Pre-Release Auctions vs. Direct API Registrations

It is essential to understand the difference between pre-release auction backorders and direct registrar API registrations:

  • How Mega-Services Operate: Services like DropCatch and SnapNames do not operate through a single registrar API. Instead, they maintain networks of hundreds or thousands of ICANN-accredited registrar tags ("registrar swarms") co-located directly with the registry.
  • 4-Character .com & 1-Word Names: Liquid 4-character .com and dictionary words usually have formal pre-release backorders placed through registry auctions. An individual desktop user operating through a single registrar API will statistically almost never beat a 1,000-registrar syndicate on those specific names.
  • Our Honest Recommendation: If you are pursuing a heavily contested 4-character .com or one-word English dictionary domain, you should place a backorder with a dedicated multi-registrar service like DropCatch.com or SnapNames.

7.4 Where DomainCatchPro Excels & Delivers Maximum ROI

DomainCatchPro provides massive advantages for domain portfolio builders and agencies:

  • Fresh & Brandable Registrations: Fast, unattended automated registration for newly conceived brand names, campaign domains, and emerging keywords.
  • Released Web Traffic & SEO Value: Available domains from defunct businesses, local companies, blogs, and content sites with established backlinks and organic traffic.
  • 100% Target Confidentiality: When you place a backorder on public platforms, your target domain is published or tracked, often triggering public auctions and price gouging. With DomainCatchPro, your target domain details are stored 100% locally on your computer—nobody knows what you are targeting.
  • Zero Backorder Markup ($10–$15 Wholesale vs $69+ Backorder Fees): When you register a domain through DomainCatchPro, you pay only the standard registrar registration fee (typically $10 to $15 at OnlineNIC or ResellerClub wholesale). You save $50 to $70+ per domain compared to backorder service fees.

7.5 Operational Pre-Registration Checklist:

  1. Synchronize your Windows clock using an authoritative NTP time server: run w32tm /resync from PowerShell.
  2. Verify your prepaid reseller account deposit has sufficient funds to cover wholesale registrations.
  3. Pre-configure and save your default nameservers and registrant contact handle IDs in the application.
  4. Set the schedule to start monitoring or registration 60 seconds before your targeted time window.

8. Troubleshooting & FAQ

Error: "Connection Refused / Unauthorized IP"

Most common with OnlineNIC and ResellerClub. Verify that your current public IP address has been whitelisted in your registrar control panel. (Note: Residential dynamic IPs may change on router restarts).

Error: "Insufficient Funds"

Registrars reject registration commands if your prepaid reseller balance is lower than the wholesale registration price of the TLD.

Migrating to a New PC:

If you purchase a new computer, open DomainCatchPro on the new computer, copy the new Machine ID, and email support with your purchase invoice to receive your updated license key.
